Building & Living healthy in the 21st century

The innerLife Wellness Center does not seek to treat nor fight disease, but rather seeks to build optimum health by balancing the inner-ecology of the body through properly evaluating, identifying and addressing each person's individual biochemistry, weakness, deficiencies, tendencies and lifestyle. This approach unleashes the body's natural, inherent and powerful capacity for restoration, regeneration and vibrant, energetic health, which is preprogrammed into every one of the body's 100 trillion cells - A state of wellness far beyond that of merely being free of symptoms. A place of responsible living where one can truly optimize health, maximize life and prevent disease.

In an attempt to understand how to effectively build health, it is necessary that we have a general understanding of what constitutes heath and what constitutes disease. Disease results both from, and is a state of biochemical imbalance and metabolic inefficiency. Health in contrast, is a state of, as well as the result of biochemical balance and metabolic efficiency on all levels: cellular, organ/glandular and systemic. At InnerLife, we understand that the underlying factor of maintaining balance and determining the presence of health or disease, involves the body's inner capacity for the creation and maintenance of pure energy.

As with all living systems that exist, the life-sustaining processes of the body (known as metabolism) depend on the body's capacity for an energy exchange with it's environment, whereby four major elements from the environment - air, water, light and food - are converted by the body into energy for life. This process takes place with the 100 trillion cells that construct the physical body. To get a vague idea of how many cells that is, if we were to begin counting 100 trillion seconds, by the time that amount of seconds have passed, it would be 3.17 million years into the future.

Quite a lot of cells to feed! - The human ability to effectively maintain life, especially in a state of perpetual health and well-being, is additionally reliant on the body's capacity for adapting to adverse environmental influences such as stress, toxins, temperature changes, and surrounding microorganisms (bacteria, yeast, fungi). Both the processes of metabolism (energy production) and the adaptive capability of the human body are predicated on the body's capacity for the creation and maintenance of pure energy.

The creation of energy in the body takes place in the cells through complex chemical processes known collectively as 'oxidation.' Of the four major elements necessary for sustaining life - air, water, light and food - three of them are relatively invariable and fairly constant. The food one can ingest on the other hand can vary dramatically in terms of the quality (organic, non-organic, processed, synthetic, whole, fresh, dehydrated, frozen, packaged, etc.), the type (protein, fat, carbohydrate) and the nutrient content (specific balances/imbalances of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, etc.).

Due to the various components that make up the modern food chain, nearly infinite variations is possible in terms of the kinds of foods we ingest. Nonetheless, whatever the quality, type, or nutrient content, food is intended to serve as fuel for our cells - the body's engines of energy production.

As with any engine, the kind of fuel that is used is critical in relation to the maximum energy output. An improper fuel mixture results in degradation of performance (like putting diesel fuel in a gasoline engine). So it is with the 100 trillion cells (heart cells, brain cells, lung cells, etc.) of the human body. For maximum energy, peak performance and optimum health, it is imperative that the cells in the body acquire the proper fuel mix from food and the other three environmental elements.

When a cell produces optimum energy, then its inherent capacity to fulfill its many functions involving regeneration, detoxification, and its unique, genetically programmed role (according to the kind of cell it is) is achieved. If cells of like kind have the energy to efficiently fulfill their functions, then the organs or glands they comprise can fulfill their functions. And if organs and glands have the energy to efficiently fulfill their functions, then the systems they comprise can fulfill their function.

For example, the strength and efficiency of the cardiovascular system depends on the strength and efficiency of the organs that comprise it. And the strength and efficiency of the cardiovascular organs depend on the efficiency of the cardiovascular organs' cells. And the strength and efficiency of the cardiovascular organs' cells depend for the most part, on the energy they are able to produce.

Every single aspect of our lives (spiritual, mental/emotional, physical, biochemical) whether it is simply thinking a thought, experiencing an emotion, taking a relaxing walk, singing a song, chewing our food, our hearts pumping blood, or the immune system attacking cancer cells, EVERYTHING requires energy. In short, when our bodies are efficient in the creation and maintenance of pure energy, good health is the natural, normal result. It is normal to be healthy; to have vibrant, abundant energy; to be free from disease - because this is the way God has designed man, and this is the genetic programming built into each and every cell.

On the other hand, when the cells are inefficient in the creation and maintenance of energy, then the result is biochemical imbalance; cellular, organ and system inefficiency; loss of homeostasis (the ability of the body to remain in balance and harmony); and failure to adapt to our environment.

In understanding the efficiency of the body cells to create and maintain energy, we will see from the preceding information that our food (nutrition), along with air, light and water are vital components. Without proper nutritional balance, our bodies are unable to manufacture the energy needed for the life-sustaining processes of metabolism. What then constitutes proper nutrition? Unfortunately until now, the orthodox medical establishment has little to offer except to say that we should eat regularly and that our meals should be well balanced.

In fairness to the establishment, we should remember that the focus of medical research and education is NOT on BUILDING HEALTH, but on FIGHTING and TREATING DISEASE. The natural question to follow then is, what is a well-balanced meal? This is where as many would realize; the field of nutrition becomes confusing.

While there may be biological basics that apply to all humans in terms of diet, individual differences are needed since health is an individual matter. This is why we encourage individuals to have their health evaluated to determine their health status and find out what and where they need to make the necessary adjustments in order to optimize health, maximize life and prevent disease.
