Just imagine that you already buy bowstrings. Or you may have new bowstring to replace the old one because you want to exercise the archy. However, archery is not simple to do, which means that you must know what to learn for your first experience. Before we practice archery it would be good to also understand how to do good and right archery. The following is a simple step in doing good and right archery:
1. Standing position in archery
Stand perpendicular to the target. If you use your right hand in firing arrows, stand with the left hip facing the target (stand with your hips instead if you use your left hand). Always keep your body in an upright position and make sure it doesn’t tilt, also imagine that your body is parallel to the vertical line to keep you straight. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart by placing your body on the shooting line. Furthermore, don’t forget to stretch your legs because it will keep your feet firmly planted and maximize your stability when shooting.
2. How to hold the bow
Hold the bow firmly and comfortably, on the recurve bow there is always a handle so that it is easy for us to hold. Do not be too stiff in holding the bow while relaxing (relaxing) so that each movement goes straight.
3. Do knocking
Place a notch on the end of the arrow on the string. Do this before lifting the bow and without pulling the bowstring. This action is commonly called “nocking in archery.
4. Pull the bowstring
Lift the bow to shoulder height, making sure the arm holding the bow is straight with the elbow locked.
It also helps to keep your arms away from the bow when you open fire. When you pull the bowstring, you have to pull the bowstring to the bottom of the jaw. Remember make sure your standing position is perpendicular and does not change when pulling the bowstring.
